"Hope"
is the last foal ever produced by
Ebony's Mark
of Gold - a palomino son of Ebony Masterpiece and out of a daughter of
Midnight Mack K. Hope's dam is by
Royal Ivory and
out of a Pride's Boss Man daughter. Hope's 1/2 sister,
Eb's Sunbeam, also resides
at Westwood Farms.
She has a fantastic head-shaking,
over-striding running walk that just won't quit! Not only is she gaited
like a dream, but she's also got a wonderful disposition. She is brave,
trusting, and loves people. She is accepting of new situations and very
calm.
The results are back from UC Davis and Hope
carries one agouti gene (ee Aa).
When
I'm Liquid Gold was
tragically killed, Hope (who was only 2 at the time) took over raising her filly,
Gambler's English Lady WF. We
expected Hope to be an excellent mother based on her behavior as a young
mare, and when she gave birth to her first foal in 2008, she proved us
right!
