This lovely young mare is truly exceptional. Not only is she one of the most well-bred buckskin mares in the country, but she is also one of the nicest mares around in terms of conformation, disposition, and gait (regardless of color).

Dixie's conformation is excellent. She has a great deal of substance to her body (especially for her age -she is a 2002 mare) without being coarse. Her legs are straight and strong. Her hip is superb, her back is short and strong, shoulder is large, and neck comes out high. She has a beautiful head with large, kind eyes, keen ears, and a tapered muzzle.

Dixie's color is lovely - a smooth, creamy gold - and she has no markings.

Dixie is a very people-oriented horse. She is very affectionate and eager to please. She is an intelligent mare with a good mind and outlook. She is incredibly easy to work with and accepting.

Dixie is gaited like a dream. She a beautiful mover that carries herself like a queen, and she is silky-smooth to ride and behaves like a true lady.

This lovely mare is as athletic as any quarter horse. She can turn on a dime and stop on a hair. She is VERY responsive and a JOY to ride.

It is obvious that Dixie has received the best of care from the start. We are extremely grateful to Brittany and Matt Holt of Texas for allowing us to purchase Dixie. She is one of the farm favorites.

Dixie's first foal was a buckskin colt, Gambler's Golden Lad WF, now proudly owned by Deb & Pat Davis or Orange, Virginia. Her second foal was a double agouti perlino colt, Gambler's Midas Touch WF, who has been retained by Westwood Farms.
