This handsome buckskin colt is another homerun for us. He would be a stunning field trail horse or go any direction that you'd want to go. His sire is our big perlino stallion, Darrah's Handsome Traveler, who comes from working western bloodlines, Elsie Darrah's breeding program and the Rise and Shine program. Handsome's sire, Captain's Cream Color, was bred by Arrow's Walkers out of two Calvin Miller bred horses. Captain's Cream Color was affectionately nicknamed "Traveler" and Micki will tell you that he was her heart horse the way that his half brother, Golden Gambler, is mine. While in Micki's program, Traveler left a legacy of naturally gaited, golden walking horses with stellar dispositions.
This colt's dam, Heavenly Bliss, comes from the famed Harlinsdale Farms breeding program. The Harlan family was offered $150,000 for her as a young mare, but opted to keep her in their program. We purchased her from the Harlinsdale dispersal sale. She is directly by The Revelation, a strapping big-boned black stallion known for producing top flatshod horses. The Revelation gets his keen intelligence and movement from his sire, Pride's Genius, a stud as renowned for his keen mind as for his strong flatwalk and running walk. Pride's Genius was by Pride of Midnight HF, who revolutionized the style of the breed and out of the great Harlinsdale mare, Delight's Joanna. The Revelation is out of a direct daughter of Sun's Delight D, a son of Midnight Sun and Wilson Snip's Chance, who was known for siring fantastic mares. Heavenly Bliss is out of a direct Pride's Gold Coin daughter. Arguably one of the greatest successes of the Harlinsburg Breeding Program, Pride's Gold Coin had a stellar show career. He won the 1976 Two-Year-Old World Grand Championship, the 1977 Three-Year-Old World Grand Championship, and the 1978 Four-Year-Old World Championship, and Four-Year-Old World Grand Championship. His prowess as a breeding stallion is legendary. Pride's Gold Coin has sired winning show horses in every division and is known as one of the most influential breeding sires of all times. Pride's Gold Coin was by Pride of Midnight HF, who revolutionized the style of the breed and out of the great Harlinsdale mare, Delight's Joanna.
